The Master of Development Management and Practice (MDP) at Los Andes University is an interdisciplinary program that seeks to prepare  leaders of private, public, multilateral, third sector, and community organizations dedicated to designing, implementing, and managing development projects.

Our MDP is led by the School of Management is the only institution in Colombia part of the Global MDP. Our School of Management is ranked amongst the firsts in Latin America, and its quality is accredited by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA

The Field Work is the MDPs´ backbone.  The objective is to combine academic processes with the realities of applied projects. The practice will run through the entire curriculum, assigning course work and two field visits in the summer. We offer students a chance to integrate theories, models and tools and make decisions on real development challenges, contributing to the effective improvement in the living conditions of vulnerable communities and ecological systems.

The program has its own portfolio of projects offered to students that challenges their own capabilities and professional experience. Through workshops, lectures, field visits and supporting material the students will gain the knowledge and skills needed for the proper analysis and project development.

For international students, the practice will have a 10 to12 week (May- July) experience with one of our allies, in different sites and organizations around Colombia, in subjects that can go from CSR strategies, to community engage activities. International students will be formal students from the University, gaining access to all the campus and its services.

The program’s goal is to offer management tools and skills that allow professionals to achieve greater results in the projects and programs under the upmost responsibility and ethical principles. Through the careful structuring of academic and real-world experiences, the MDP will support the next generation of global leaders in the field of cross-disciplinary sustainable development.
