Ages of Globalization with Jeffrey D. Sachs

Join our new online live course, ‘The Ages of Globalization,’ with Jeffrey D. Sachs, which is based on his book by the same name and  which explores the fascinating journey of how our world has evolved through different phases of interconnectedness.

This course already exists but as a self-paced course that anyone can take anytime, anywhere in the world.  But beginning in February 2026, Jeff D. Sachs, President of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, is making an offer that you should not turn down.  Professor Sachs will facilitate 10 live sessions of the course.  All of this at no-cost to the participants.  In other words, for free.

We are interested in institutions of higher education joining the groundbreaking global classroom with Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs and uncover the lessons of history to shape a more just and sustainable future.

Across millennia, human societies have adapted to change, forged new connections, and shaped the world we live in today. Ages of Globalization invites learners on an immersive journey through humanity’s shared history, tracing seven ages of globalization through the lens of geography, technology, and institutions. The course helps learners understand the forces that continue to shape our interconnected world and, through dynamic video lectures and interactive activities, empowers them to connect historical knowledge with the challenges we face today.

Whether you are an individual learner or part of a classroom, everyone is welcome. The course can be taken anytime, anywhere, and Institutions of Higher Education can adapt and localize the content to fit their own programs and contexts.

From February to April 2026, learners and educators from Higher Education Institutions can JOIN WEEKLY LIVE GLOBAL CLASSROOM SESSIONS via Zoom. These interactive sessions build on the self-paced course and provide the opportunity to engage directly with Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs while deepening understanding of the material and its application to today’s global challenges.

First session: February 3, 2026 – 8:00 AM ET
